Modeling

The Working Lands Innovation Center will use computer models to scale up field results for the state. The California Natural and Working Lands Carbon and Greenhouse Gas Model (CALAND) is an empirically based, carbon accounting model that simulates the effects of various management practices and land use or land cover change on carbon dynamics in all California lands, including land-atmosphere carbon dioxide exchange.
